true southern

so i'm taking this class in the theatre department called "speech and dialects for performance". basically, the class consists of sitting around and talking in different accents, and i just love it. anyway, we're working on genteel southern right now, and i'm having some trouble polishing it. is it pretentious and/or annoying to practice on strangers?

i'm still going to do it regardless.

ps imagine that all in a southern accent, i.e. it took 5 minutes to read.
