welcome to the 21st century

feelin': not tired enough for 2:30 am

now playing: the jerry springer show [wild affairs(!), featuring a man dancing with a blow-up doll]

yeah so this is my first entry in what will hopefully be an often-updated weblog.  i am totally cheating and using an automatic thing, but you know what?  i don't care anymore.  i had enough trouble trying to get this stupid blog page to link to a .tk domain name, before realizing that having a .tk domain name isn't all that cool.

yeah so yesterday was the mental notes concert.  i watched a video of it today.  very cool.  came out pretty good.  i am still honing my vocal percussion skills, but after putting me on percussion on two songs in a row, i think greg has at least some confidence in my meager abilities.  last concert for lisa and lyric i really like those two.  it's hard to imagine the mental notes without them.

yeah so like i said the concert last night and the party followed.  we almost didn't have a party but we found a house at the last minute that was willing to host us wild-n-crazy mental notes and our guest group, the rit brick city singers, aka the bizarro mental notes.  those guys brought their own shot glasses.  they were pretty hardcore.  how hardcore you say?  well i brought half a (big-ass) bottle of jägermeister and there was only a little bit left when i left.  and if you know anything about jäger, you know that either you really like it or you really don't in a big way.  i suppose there's nothing better to do in rochester than drink (eh, barrett?  gen?).

*song switch* phish: roggae

yeah so i won't dwell on the actual drinking, (we'll take it as a state variable rather than a path variable.  it doesn't matter how i got there it's where i ended up.  sort of like energy, but not work it's interesting if you... *SACK* sorry, my academic side has been sacked).  what matters is i was very talkative.  in fact, i told michelle after she gave me a cracker that she should be wearing a bikini and rollerblades and serving crackers to everyone.  that's right, folks.  then i played pool with JR, aka Jurph, a homo ex nota (as ben says), the percussion guru emeritus.  that was funny because he was sober and i was... pathetic.

*song switch* cake: cool blue reason

yeah so this morning i had a bit of a headache and i had to go to the lacrosse game at loyola.  they seated the band in these bleachers that were way off the normal ones, almost behind the other goal.  we felt like a leper colony (an all too common treatment for the band).  we could only see what was going on on our side of the field so i spent much of the time nursing my hangover with my head down.  (why is it always so bright the day after you drink?!)  unfortunately, staying in the same position for so long rewarded me with a badass sunburn on my left knee and left forearm.  don't ask me how, but they really hurt now.

*song switch* stereolab: mellotron

yeah so then i came back and slept til 8.  had some dinner with sarahs, intended to start a paper but didn't.  then fooled around with this xanga weblog thing.  then i saw eric (the french) dressed up to go to see the rocky horror picture show and let me tell you it was a riot.  pics will go up asap. he is total eurotrash.  and while i was screwing with this blog stuff i watched an episode of sheena.

*song switch* nature sounds : gentle rain

holy cow this is a long post.  okay goodnight all.
