curry ahoy!

tonight's cooking adventure: chicken curry.  outcome: success!!  i got the recipe from foodtv.com and it seems relatively simple.  yum.  although i wonder why eddie's charges FIVE DOLLARS FOR CUMIN!  okay i feel better now.  it's much better when you get real basmati indian rice, which raj graciously picked up at the indo-pak store across the street.  overall, a very good meal.

hmm.  the love theme from episode ii just came on beethoven radio.  i'm not sure if i like it.  i think i do, though, because i recognized it about 4 notes in and was thusly intrigued.  i like star wars.

anyway, in other news: my house was almost broken into again.  i looked on the sunporch to discover the chain off the door and the bolt undone.  pissed me off.  we took inventory, and nothing was missing, and the bottom deadbolt was still intact on the inside door.   pete thinks it was just a survey job.  so we secured the area as best we could, using about a half a roll of duct tape in the process.  that back door is really our weakest link, since all the other doors and windows have adt on them.  i think whoever broke in last time knows it too.  that's why either this week or next we're putting in a second adt keypad upstairs so we can turn the motion detector on.  grrr.   also, i piled cinder blocks in front of the door, and it's braced with a chair.  you'd really have to be determined to get in now.  and we're getting that second keypad asap.  i think that the potential theif was trying to open the door and heard the mini-alarm we have on it and got scared off.  i mean that's what i hope, anyway.  honestly, there's nothing of any real value downstairs.  it just pisses me off that somebody keeps trying to get in my damn house.

also on that note, greg's house was robbed twice in the last 3 days, among the total casualties a playstation 2, some dvds, greg's laptop, and greg's digital camera.  a digital ELPH, if i'm not mistaken.  those things are not cheap.  we're talking like $400.  yeah that also pisses me off.  dan's talking about moving out of there, but honestly they're gonna have trouble finding places if they move out.

i (heart) city life, my ass.

web development at this time is stalled, i have a menu design and splash page, but am still wondering about how to implement it.
