ch-ch-changes (don't wanna be an oily man)
[alternate title: laid back tom... or cool hip tom]
kiel: lighter
kie: the mosh pit
kio: pete practicing flute on a song that i know the melody of but just can't think of the title.
so the meaning of the title is somewhat a double entendre. it's not just a pseudo simpsons quote (homer singing while he changes his oil) but a reference to my greasy long hair.
i went to the football game today. hopkins v. rochester. now i am just as much of a red-blooded american as the rest, but compared to lacrosse, FOOTBALL IS SO SLOW! at least when you're in the band and it's 3487923509843 degrees out. we actually kicked their butts, like 41-28 or so. but our place kicker missed two, not one, but TWO extra points. that's gonna cost us some day. by the way, in case you're wondering why we have 41, we went for 2 on the last touchdown.
anyhoo, last night was the bosstones concert. it was loud. my ears were still ringing this morning. the first two bands were la-hame and there was a whole lot of moshing. i don't get that.
when the bosstones came on, though, the people collectively decided to try crowdsurfing instead of moshing. much safer for the general public.
anyway, before the show, dickie barrett was just standing there in the crowd chilling. cool, huh? here is a story in sarah's words:
"Before the show, Tom spotted Dickie Barrett (the Bosstones' lead singer) hanging out in the crowd. Once I shut my mouth, I casually sauntered over to say hello and get my ticket autographed. At the end of our short exchange, Dickie looked not-so-subtly at my breasts. "
pretty funny, huh? heehee. i wanna be a rock star. the bosstones put on a freakin awesome show (as always, it seems) and even though i [again] only knew one song it was still rad.
oh and by the way, i cut my hair.
yeah. black and white. all artsy and shit.
PS the song was l'arlésienne. you probably know the tune but not the title. much like me. until just recently.
ed: note: rockstars check out boobs. film at 11. -9/5/06
