that is one tortured soul right there. and one stoned 10-year old.

sarah (re: how my weblog will probably sound): "i'm awesome, look at me i'm the star! i'm so awesome!"

...right.

my life for the past month (since my last update, lamentably) has been consumed by the secret garden.

hell week was especially taxing (there is a reason for the moniker). about 6 hours of rehearsal a night starting monday all the way up til the show on saturday and sunday (luckily we did have friday off). i can empathize with bob (jekyll at the ordt) when his voice is all messed up after act i of jekyll. after a whole week of rehearsal for that long my pipes were shot opening night. i mean i could still sing okay but the high notes just weren't happening. if you went on saturday, sorry to disappoint you.

sunday was a better show for me vocally (despite the later than late cast party the night before and the added complication of government mandated time adjustment). my parents and both grandmothers came to see. my mom was in tears from the time i opened my mouth. sigh... that's what parents do i guess.

this week is round 2 of midterms. sigh. took transport today after roughly 4 hours of sleep (gosh, everybody's weblog is about sleep!), it was very difficult. though i suspect that everyone felt the same way and i predict the average to be in the 40s.

see that's the thing about engineers. today i heard someone remark that they decided to pass/fail a class since they got a paper back and had an 85 on it. i'm thinking "85! holy crap! that's gotta be at least 3 standard deviations above the mean!" sigh... i hate when people INSIST on asking professors for the standard deviation. then when the professor doesn't know, they still insist that he tell them the next day. it means nothing, honestly. most professors don't use it to grade on a curve. they say, okay, 15% of the class is getting an a. 50% getting a b, et cetera.

in other news, i need 3 chem e classes to graduate, for a total of 12 credits. now i am (finally) free to take fun classes that i have a genuine interest in. like i will. if all goes well, i'll have 14 credits next semester, and no class on friday. ha cha cha.
