annelid adventures

i was walking to school today, and i came across a young boy, maybe 4-5 years old, holding a coloring book in one hand and looking at the ground near the sidewalk.

me: hello.
boy: LOOK!
me: look at what?
boy: i found a WORM! (holds up worm)
me: cool. what are you going to do with him?
boy: (matter-of-factly) i'm going to put him back in the earth, so he doesn't die!

is this kid from ithaca or what?

epilogue: i continued walking, and a few seconds later: "hey mister!" he yelled to the man walking about 100 feet or so behind me. "i found a worm!!"


in other news, i had a readthrough for "the importance of being earnest" today. it should be a fun show!
